Adhesives & Sealants

                   Co-Formula functional silanes are mainly used in adhesives and sealants as coupling agents, tackifiers, surface modifiers, crosslinking agents, water scavengers and terminating agents, which can bring the following characteristics:

  • Reduce viscosity, improve dispersion and processability of inorganic fillers;

  • Improve adhesion and compatibility between organic resins and inorganic substrates;

  • Increase dry and wet strength and bond durability of substrates;

  • Prevent premature rubber vulcanization and improve product storage stability;

  • Increase the uniformity of vulcanization;

  • Increase elongation at break.

Amino, epoxy and mercapto functional silanes can be applied to most resin systems. With their presence, excellent bonding can be formed on metals, glass and resins. These silanes are the most commonly used coupling agents for the condensation silicone sealants and adhesives.

Most silane coupling agents can be used for the surface treatment of inorganic fillers. Co-Formula also provides dispersing agent for various fillers and pigments. Inorganic fillers and pigments treated by Co-Formula products have better dispersibility in adhesives and sealant system.

Co-Formula methyl silicone fluids can be used as basic materials and plasticizers in adhesives and sealants system. These fluids can significantly improve mechanical properties and chemical properties of adhesives and sealants.

In addition to functional silanes and silicone fluids, Co-Formula silicone polymers are also playing important roles in adhesives and sealants industries.

Co-Formula has successfully developed a series of silane modified polyether polymers. The silyl-terminated polymer series are mainly used in adhesives and sealant formulations. Key features of adhesives and sealants based on Co-Formula silane terminated polyether polymers include:

  • No isocyanate, solvent-free, low VOC;

  • Low color and odor;

  • Low viscosity, easy to use over a wide temperature range;

  • Significant adhesion to various substrates;

  • Good compatibility with resins and coatings;

  • Superior mechanical properties;

  • Excellent weather resistance, UV resistance, hydrolysis resistance;

  • Better durability and longer shelf life;
