Crosslinkers & Silazanes

Co-Formula provides silane crosslinkers, also known as silane crosslinking agents, for international customers. Co-Formula crosslinkers can be used to crosslink various organic polymers, such as polyethers, polyesters, acrylates, and polyurethanes to improve their mechanical properties and chemical properties. These silane crosslinkers can improve elongation, tear resistance and abrasion resistance excellently.

Main Cross-linking Agents

Main crosslinkers at Co-Formula include VTAS (CFS-089, Vinyltriacetoxysilane, Cas No. 4130-08-9), MTAS (CFS-343, Methyltriacetoxysilane, Cas No. 4253-34-3), VOS (CFS-331, Vinyltris(methylethylketoxime)silane, Cas No. 2224-33-1), MOS (CFS-549, Methyltris(methylethylketoxime)silane, Cas No. 22984-54-9) and TEOS (CFS-104, Tetraethyl orthosilicate, Cas No. 78-10-4). CFS-089 is a colorless or yellowish clear liquid. It is soluble in a variety of organic solvents.

VTAS and MTAS are primarily used as crosslinking agents for one-component room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber (RTV), tackifiers for plastics, ceramics, aluminum and silicone rubber, curing agents for silicone rubber putty, and adhesion promoters for medical silicone rubber products. TEOS, CFS-104 is also named tetraethoxysilane. It is mainly used as a crosslinking agent for silicone rubbers. You may find it acting as a silica source for some zeolites'synthesis.

Silazanes & Markets

There are two commercial silazanes at Co-Formula, CFS-973(Hexamethyldisilazane, Cas No. 999-97-3) and CFS-023(1,3-Divinyl-1,1,3,3-Tetramethoxydisilazane, Cas No. 7691-02-3). CFS-973, normally abbreviated as HMDS, is a colorless transparent liquid. HMDS is commonly used as a blocking agent to protect hydroxyl groups. It is also used as an adhesion promoter for photoresist in photolithography. In electron microscopy, HMDS with CAS NO.999-97-3 can be used as an alternative to critical point drying during the preparation process of samples. CFS-023, known as DVTMDZ, is a special vinyl silazane. It can be used for the manufacturer of silicone resins and silicone rubbers, especially suitable for vinyl silicone resins. DVTMDZ is also acting as a tackifier and adhesion promoter for negative photoresist.
