Tetraethyl orthosilicate Description

CFS-104, Tetraethyl orthosilicate is the ethyl ester of orthosilicic acid. It is also named Tetraethoxysilane or Ethyl silicate and known as abbreviated TEOS or TEOS 28. CFS-104 is used in a wide range of application fields where a liquid precursor of silica is needed. It is the equivalent of Dynasylan® SILBOND® Pure, Momentive Silquest TEOS, and ShinEtsu KBE-04.

Tetraethyl orthosilicate Application

CFS-104 is an important material for sol-gel processing. It can be used as a crosslinking agent, a binder or a drying agent in adhesives, coatings and silicone rubbers, especially suitable for zinc-rich paints.
CFS-104 can be used for the surface treatment of metals, glass, fibers, inorganic fillers and pigments. It can improve mechanical properties as well as chemicals and thermal stability of the composites.
CFS-104 can be used for optical glass processing and improve the light transmittance.
CFS-104 can be used as an insulation material in electronic industry and a silica source for semiconductors and zeolites synthesis.

Tetraethyl orthosilicate Storage

CFS-104 should be stored in a cool, well-ventilated place, and avoid exposure to humidity.
CFS-104 should be stored in its original containers and used up as soon as possible after opening.
When stored in a strictly sealed and unopened container, CFS-104 has a shelf life of 12months.
