The application methods of silane coupling agents mainly include surface pretreatment method and direct addition method. The former is to treat the surface of the packing with diluted coupling agent, while the latter is to add the original solution of coupling agent when the resin and packing are premixed.


1. Pretreatment packing method of silane coupling agents


Put the packing into the solid mixer (high-speed solid mixer HENSHEL or V-type solid mixer, etc.), and spray the silane coupling agents solution directly on the packing and stir, and the higher the rotating speed, the better the dispersion effect. Generally,it is better for 10-30 minutes stirring (it needs longer time, with lower speed), and it should be dried at 120 degrees Celsius after packing treatment (2 hours).


2. Aqueous solution of silane coupling agents (glass fiber surface treatment agents)


Glass fiber surface treatment agent usually contains: film forming agent, antistatic agent, surfactant, coupling agent, and water. The dosage of silane coupling agents is generally 0.3-2% of the total amount of glass fiber surface treatment agents. The 5-fold aqueous solution is firstly adjusted to a certain PH value with organic acid or salt. After fully stirring, silane is added until it becomes transparent, and then the remaining components are added. The glass fiber surface treatment agent is sprayed on the glass fiber to dry during the drawing process, and then the solvent and water can be removed.


3. The bottom method of silane coupling agents


The solution of 5%-20% silane coupling agents should be coated, brushed, sprayed and impregnated on the surface of the substrate. And then, take the substrate out and make it dry at room temperature for 24 hours, and preferably bake it at 120℃ for 15 minutes.
