Overview:
CFS-182 is a secondary amino bisilane, which both have a secondary amino functional group containing only one active hydrogen and six hydrolyzable alkoxy (ethoxy) groups in its molecular structure. This dual reactivity allows it to improve the bonding, adhesion and compatibility between inorganic materials (glass, metals, fillers) and organic polymers (thermosetting resins, plastics, elastomers) through a bidirectional chemical reaction with both. In turn, it improves the mechanical properties of resin-based composites or enhances the bonding strength and water resistance of resin coatings. In different applications, it can be used as coupling agent, adhesion promoter, curing agent, surface modifier of color filler, etc. Its bis-silane structure is twice as much as the hydrolyzable alkoxy of ordinary silane, so it can form higher crosslink density with polymers.

Reaction properties:
In the presence of water, the alkoxy group of CFS-182 will hydrolyze to form an active silicone hydroxyl group, while releasing ethanol as a by-product of the hydrolysis reaction. This silicone hydroxyl group is chemically bonded to the hydroxyl group on the surface of various inorganic materials (substrates or fillers) by condensation reaction. Through the above two-way reaction, the product realizes the coupling and connection between inorganic filler (or substrate) and organic polymer materials.
For the hydrolysis of CFS-182, the pH of the aqueous solution should be adjusted to 2~3 acidic conditions with organic acid (such as formic acid or acetic acid); for the preparation of the oil-based primer solution of this product, 2~4% of water by weight of the product should be added to the solution, and then stirred for more than 5 hours.
Suitable inorganic materials for this product include glass, glass fiber, glass wool, mineral wool, mica, quartz and other siliceous materials and aluminum hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, kaolin, talcum powder, steel, zinc, aluminum and other metals and their oxides, but there is basically no effect on calcium carbonate, graphite, carbon black, barium sulfate and other fillers that do not contain hydroxyl groups on the surface.
Suitable polymers for this product include (but not limited to) phenolic, epoxy, furan, urea-formaldehyde, polyurethane, acrylic, polyester, silicone, nitrile and other thermosetting resins and nylon, polycarbonate, PBT, PET, EVA, modified PP, PVC, PVB, PVAC, PS and other plastics.
