  • Small viscosity-temperature coefficient

The viscosity temperature coefficient of methyl silicone oil is low, and it changes little with temperature, which is related to the helix structure of silicone oil. Silicone oil is a kind of oil with the best viscosity temperature characteristic among all kinds of liquid lubricants. This property of silicone oil is of great significance for damping equipment.

  • High compression resistance

Due to the helical structure and large distance between molecules, silicone oil has high compression resistance. Using this characteristic of silicone oil, it can be used as liquid spring. Compared with mechanical spring, its volume can be greatly reduced.

  • Low surface tension

Low surface tension is the characteristic of methyl silicone oils. Low surface tension means high surface activity. Therefore, silicone oil has excellent defoaming and antifoaming properties, isolation from other substances and lubricating properties.

  • Non-toxic, tasteless and physiologically inert

From a physiological point of view, siloxane polymers are one of the most inactive compounds known. Dimethyl silicone oil is inert to organisms and has no rejection reaction with animals. Therefore, they have been widely used in surgery, internal medicine, medicine, food and cosmetics.

  • Good lubricity

Silicone oil has many excellent properties as a lubricant, such as high flash point, low freezing point, thermal stability, small viscosity change with temperature, no metal corrosion, no adverse effect on rubber, plastics, coatings and organic coatings, low surface tension and easy spreading on metal surface. In order to improve the lubricity of steel with silicone oil, lubricity additives which can be miscible with silicone oil can be added. The lubricity of silicone oil can be greatly improved by introducing chlorophenyl into siloxane chain or replacing dimethyl with trifluoropylmethyl.
